SPARK Impact investee companies shortlisted for Bionow 2014 awards

SPARK Impact is delighted to announce that eight investee companies, from ‘The North West Fund for Biomedical’ portfolio have been shortlisted for the 2014 Bionow Annual Awards. The awards take place at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Cheshire, on the 27th November 2014.

As the highlight of the biomedical calendar, the prestigious Bionow Awards will showcase the very best companies and innovations located in the north of the UK, in the life sciences sector.

Newtec Vascular Products and Perfectus Biomed have been shortlisted in the Bionow Start Up of the Year award category – sponsored by Baker Tilly.  Credent Medical developers of Changing Lives, a unique non–invasive blood glucose monitor has been nominated for the Bionow Healthcare Project of the Year Award – sponsored by TRUSTECH.

In the Bionow Project of the Year award category – sponsored by Waters Corporation, Prokyma was shortlisted for its high affinity method to automate capture of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) from whole blood- a revolutionary technology in cancer detection and monitoring.

LumbaCurve International’s back pain relief has been nominated for the Bionow product of the year award – sponsored by UL EduNeering, while Compliance Control has been nominated for the Bionow Technical Service Award – sponsored by North West Coast Academic Health Science Network.

Within the shortlist for the Bionow Investment Deal of the Year award – sponsored by Ludlow Wealth Management, is Albert Medical Devices for the fundraising for its Melio Leg bag product launch and Videregen, a developer of stem cell organ regenerative medicine.
